CBKC Awarded $800,000 National OCS Grant for Blue Parkway Sun Fresh

National Equity Follows More than $1 Million in Kansas City Grants Recently Received Emmet Pierson, Jr., chief executive officer of Community Builders of Kansas City (CBKC), announced today that the organization has received a $800,000 grant from the Office of Community Services (OCS) to serve job retention and creation for Blue Parkway Sun Fresh. Retirement of Previous Operator Opens Door to Refresh of Blue Parkway’s Sun Fresh Community Builders of Kansas City, the area’s largest urban core developer, announced today it will become the owner / operator of the Sun Fresh on Blue Parkway, one of the few full-service supermarkets east of Prospect Avenue. The transaction will be complete as of June 30, 2020, and follows the retirement of the current operator.
